Technology is changing really fast, it seems like yesterday when we used to chill on ICQ and flirt on MSN messenger. Today, there is social media monsters that are eating everything up, including themselves in the case of Facebook.
Being in the software business, it is frankly our job to convince people to build websites, optimize SEO and use Adwords and Facebook automated marketing API’s to make money. However, in the recent years, we started to loose this battle, and for once, we are pretty much convinced that NOT everybody needs a website.
For once, we are pretty much convinced that NOT everybody needs a website..
Let’s think about it, people are already selling jewelry, furniture, niche products and sharing all galleries they need on Instagram. Sponsors are already paying loads of money to fashionistas and actors to sponsor their products or services. People are ALREADY making money on social media. Whats the website for ?

This questions has haunted our marketing team for a while, however, a resolution has been eventually reached : Websites are not useless. At least not for the next few years. It all depends on who you are trying to add value for. So if you are one of those, never think twice and get one :
A) A premium brand
Premium here means that the strategy behind the brand is to be premium; jewelry stores, trendy gadgets, restaurants, coworking places .... etc.
B) Companies that sell physical products
If you sell products, you SHOULD hop on the e-commerce wagon. Digital sales are growing, and quite frankly, clients started expecting it everywhere. A hidden advantage of e-commerce websites is it’s amazing ability to help you with the operations, clients ask us to integrate shipping companies, send invoices, reconcile payments and provide instant support for their customers. You website becomes your store and that is just good for business.
If you write content, you need a website. We understand the social media is great and everything, but you are missing on a lot. Firstly, SEO can drive organic traffic to your doorstep, in which you can monetize later on through your website. Secondly, you can place ads on your website and make money if your traffic is good. So a website is a must
After-all, it is always great to have your own website, but truly great websites are expensive. So if you are more on the “beginning my business side” don’t go for a premium website , luckily, we provide both premium and simple website services here at worcbox.
In conclusion , do you think that you really don’t need a website if you function on social media ? Share with us you opinion in the comments below.
